Meet Bandit! This fun loving dude is ready for Colorado life. Hiking, walks, fetch, he is ready for it all! Bandit gets along well with other dogs and loves all people. Bandit originally came to us from Arkansas where he was abandoned at a shelter there. He would love a home ready to take him on adventures and help him get back to a good weight.
Bandit appears to have osteoarthritis due to age or previous injury. Animal House typically does not perform x-rays to diagnose arthritis, but treats dogs showing signs of arthritis with joint supplements and other pain medications as needed. Acupuncture, laser therapy, fish oil, and physical therapy may also be used to manage pain in these cases. If the dog is overweight, weight loss is one of the most critical ways to decrease arthritis pain and improve mobility. Adopters will want to work closely with their veterinarian to develop a pain management program for this patient. Adopters are responsible for veterinary care.
Bandit tested positive for heartworm and is looking for a foster-to-adopt home to finish out his treatment!
